Who, What, Why, Where?
The Cajun Trippers’ mission is to provide travel inspiration, entertainment, and information to explorers of North America. Their vision is to encourage others to explore their world by driving roads less traveled and visiting unexplored locations in their “backyard”.
Cajun Tripper’s backyard: This tupelo/cypress swamp on the fringes of Lake Chicot is considered inaccessible by many, but a small boat such as a pirogue or kayak provides a relaxing, peaceful way to explore this Central Louisiana swamp.
Get out and discover!
Are you aware of the potential scenic, fun, events and destinations around you, near your home. These destinations do exist and are in your “backyard”. Many people have multiple reasons to not walk out their door and discover the scenic, fun, bizarre events, and off the beaten path destinations near them. Maybe they’re too busy with work, with family or just don’t not take the time to explore their “backyard”. The Cajun Trippers are encouraging you to “Get out and discover!”
When you finally do travel, go on that deserved vacation, what “Destinations” do you visit? Do you stay on the beaten path? These well publicized, advertised destinations involve high volumes of people and high volumes of traffic. The Grand Canyon South Rim, Smoky Mountain National Park, Big Bend National Park, Acadia National Park, and other amazing scenic locations are examples. These destinations can and are great locations to visit. But, you may be missing out on other less-publisized great destinations within and outside of the boundaries of these types of locations.
When you finally do travel, go on that deserved vacation, attend a local or cultural event, do you maintain a visitor’s outside viewpoint, or do you interact with the locals. Do you engage and attempt to learn about the local culture during your travels? Unfortunately, many people stay in their comfort zone, and don’t connect with local people. These travelers are missing out on meeting wonderful people; we call these people “Famous People”.
And the exciting…do you take advantage of the “Adrenaline Rush” opportunities. As you travel, as you explore, there are many opportunities to participate in exciting, fun activities. These are varied and depend on your perception of risk and real or unfounded hazards and fear. Take the opportunity to engage in your favorite adrenaline activity or slap your fear in the face and conquer your phobia.
